If I had a billion dollars, I'd give a million to each of my friends and family. I'd have an indoor gym and pool built at my college. I'd pay for teachers aides at my daughter's school. I'd buy every book Nora Roberts ever wrote, and I'd fly to her next book signing so I could tell her thank you for saving my sanity by giving me an escape from reality for a few hours at a time.

Today was slightly more eventful... I watched my best friend's little boy so she and her other half could go to an amusement park.  He is 21 months old, and hilarious.  He thinks my kids are awesome... dunno why... they ignore him half the time, and they're mean to him another quarter of the time.  We (the short ones and I) took a trip to Wal-mart for embroidery floss, trash bags, and pull-ups.  It wasn't too bad, but I'm glad I only had 2 kids.

They got here to pick him up at 11 and said they are planning to go back in 2 weeks so they can take their son to the water park, and they want to take me and my kids too!  Which is really sweet, but I don't know what hubby will think, cause he'll hafta work and won't be able to go, and he'll probably not want me to take the kids without him- you know, their first trip to an amusement park is a big deal and Daddy should be there for it... or he might just say "Sure, take them, they'll have a blast" and it could just be me wanting him to go.  Who knows.

Poor hubby, his amp and about 20 cds were stolen out of his car Friday night.  Not good.  When I called to report it, the police officer said there had been a couple of other break-ins within the last few days around our area.  Argh.

I kinda feel like this is partly my fault- we never had anything stolen in our old town... and within a month of moving, this happens.  Course, if the amp wasn't mounted in plain view, it might not have been taken, but still.

Well, time to stuff the short people in bed.  Later, y'all.

It's been interesting around here lately... NOT.  Yesterday I took the kids out to play in the pool while I sat on the patio.  They're both very fair-skinned redheads, so I put sunscreen on them.  I didn't put any on myself.

I'm crispy.  All except for the spot on my right knee where I wiped the sunscreen off my hand, that is.  Can you say stupid?

We're planning a Wal-mart trip in a little while... A is making a list for me.  That's about it as far as my life is going.  oh, and I registered for my fall classes.  Whee.

I went grocery shopping yesterday.  Alone.  The kids stayed with hubby.  I went to Wal-Mart, filled the cart up completely full, and got to the checkout to realize that the strange booming sound I'd been hearing was thunder.  Uh-oh, and there's a whole bunch of cold food in the cart that needs to go straight home.  So, I checked out, walked to the door.  There are about 10-12 people standing, watching massive amounts of rain pouring down.  I decided that I was going to risk it, cause I didn't want all the frozen food to be ruined.  So I tied the tops of the bags shut and ran out into the rain.  Mistake #1:  Don't run out into the parking lot in a lightning storm if you can't remember where you parked your car.  Mistake #2:  Don't wear glasses during heavy rain storms- it made it even harder to find the damn car.  Mistake #3: Don't buy enormous quantities of groceries if it looks like rain.  Mistake #4: Don't leave the car window down.  You'll have an even wetter ass if you do.  By the time I found the car, got the food loaded into the car, and got myself in the car, it had almost stopped raining outside.  I, on the other hand, was still dripping.  Mistake #5:  If it's pouring the rain, wait a few minutes and see if it lets up before going charging out to play in it.

Kids are punks.  A insisted that she just had to have that stupid circus playset for her birthday.  Two weeks later, it's gathering dust on top of her dresser.  It hasn't been touched in a week.  Should've taken her to the bookstore and spent the money there.  She joined the kids reading program at the library, and she has been reading every minute that I wasn't forcing her to do something else.  She's only 6, for criminy's sake.  She needs to come up for air once in a while.

Sorry, guys, I've spent most of the last couple weeks unpacking, rearranging stuff, and playing outside with the kids.  My bestest friend is across the yard... we go for walks around and around the complex almost every day.  It's great.  I set up the kids wading pool on the patio, and they splash around while I get distracted by shiny romance novels.  (Hi J)

oh, update on the ECL... the place wasn't cleaned before we moved in, she didn't get fired after all (#^&*$#), and she can't prune worth anything.  Every bush out here is now 18 inches tall, has roughly 4 branches, and 10 leaves.  Doesn't seem to matter what kind of bush or tree it started out as... what a moron.

We switched internet providers and our connection speed is now a whopping 28.8 on the good days, which is another reason I've not posted lately... by the time I check my email its time to do something else.

Well, my Mom is here, and she brought me 2 flats of flowers, so gotta go for now.
