If I had a billion dollars, I'd give a million to each of my friends and family. I'd have an indoor gym and pool built at my college. I'd pay for teachers aides at my daughter's school. I'd buy every book Nora Roberts ever wrote, and I'd fly to her next book signing so I could tell her thank you for saving my sanity by giving me an escape from reality for a few hours at a time.

    Holy guacamole!

I just wrote two web pages entirely in html.  Not only that, but I wrote them in friggin' NOTEBOOK!

I can't believe it.  It worked.  Who'da thunk it.  I thought UNIX was fun, but this was a blast.

(Should I be having this much fun in a class?  Doing homework?)

Now- I have to go downstairs and switch computers so I can test the pages with firefox, since it's only installed on one of our home computers (and of course it isn't the one I'm using, either.)

I didn't forget- I WILL scan the kids fair paintings in and post them.  Soon.  I swear.

    Whoo hoo!

I think I mentioned that the kiddos and I entered stuff in the county fair... well, George has been sick so we haven't actually gotten out there yet, but I checked the judging results, and we all three got ribbons!  Okay, so they're more of 'Thanks for entering' than 'OMG your entry is awesome', but still.  I told the kids we would frame their art with the ribbon inside and hang them on the wall.  If I remember, I might even get a picture of each of them holding their painting and tuck that in the frame as well.

It was fun, and now I totally want to start a massively complex, ornate project to enter for next year's fair.  I want the big ribbon, dang it.  Guess I should wait and see what kinds of things other people entered- I'm probably horribly outclassed by women who have been knitting lace for fifty years, but still.  No harm in being beaten by a master!

    All right, that settles it.

I'm tired of my school server being down and therefore making my images not visible.  I'll just have to use the danged Flickr account I guess.  Sigh.

Not tonight, though, tonight I'm going to sleep.

    Eeek!

For my web development class I have to write a web page.  No text editors allowed- ie we have to write it in notepad.  This is not so bad, but there's a laundry list of elements we are required to include.  I figure I"ll go with my strengths and make mine about knitting.  I have masses of knitting pics, blogs, and other resources available, so it's just a matter of putting it all together in a cohesive format.  Right?

So anyway, it should prove interesting.  Now- off to search the net for good knitty-type pictures.  I might even create a couple of gifs of stick people knitting.  :)

    I broke my husband's brain.

Every time I talk about knitting, he cringes.  A little while ago, I was heading upstairs to watch my distributed education lectures, and I grabbed my current knitting project (a little cuddle blankie for Monkey) so I could knit while I watch.  He seemed disturbed that I was going to knit while doing my homework... so as I walked up the stairs, I popped my head back around the wall and said, "Oh, I just had the greatest idea!  I'll get some of that nylon stuff that bath poufs are made of, and I can knit while I soak in the tub!"

    I think he almost cried.

    I've been bad.

I haven't gone to work this week at all.

In my defense, it's because my knee has been making sleep impossible (damned arthritis), and so I've been getting more groggy by the day (and more cranky, and less able to deal with life/children/my husband/his houseguest).  Today George is going to daycare as soon as he finishes breakfast, and I'm coming back and going back to bed.  I'm considering buying a bottle of Schnapps and having a few shots- if that doesn't put me out nothing will.

Yesterday I got out the art supplies and let the kids paint.  We took the best one by each of them and entered them in the Open Class Fine Arts division of the fair.  I forgot to take any pictures of them with their artwork before taking it to the fair (see sleep deprivation), so I'll have to take pics next week when we get them back.  I also knit up a pair of teeny tiny Mary Jane style booties and entered them in the Knitting Open Class.  I'll post a picture of them next week, too.  Now I just need to finish all of the baby gifts for the various pregnant people.  I like making baby socks, they're quick and fun, so everyone will probably get socks until I get tired of them.

Um, lets see... oh, I'm taking an online intro to web development class, which has been interesting (although mostly review) up to this point.  However... the next section is on Unix, which I know absolutely nothing about, so my lovely 100% may go down the drain in the immediate future.  (Hafta get those watched so I can do the lab- it's due Sunday.)

Well, George is done eating, so it's time do drag his tushie off to daycare.  Oh, hafta wake Ethel and drag her off to the FFY, too.  Then I'm going to come home and try to sleep.  (Unfortunately for me, we have a houseguest currently sleeping in the livingroom floor, so I can't go nap in the recliner with my knee up like I usually do.)

Oh, before I forget- I told Oshu I wanted to go to my family reunion this year with my mom and leave the kids home with him.  Not that it will actually happen that way, but just the thought of a whole night that I"m NOT responsible for anyone but myself makes me happy.

    Awesomeness.

    http://truewifeconfessions.blogspot.com/

Go check this out.  I'm thinking of printing out the whole blog and giving it to Oshu to read.  Several of them are so totally me.  (Course, he wouldn't recognize them, now would he... that's the whole problem.)
